Well as many of you know I have a newborn son! I had to make a choice on formula or breastfeeding. After my study I came to the conclusion that breastfeeding would be the best! Now I am a little on the shy side when it comes to breastfeeding so I went on the hunt for solutions on how to be more discrete. That is when I came across Bun Maternity.
What is so special about this company? At Bun Maternity they live to style moms and moms-to-be with lifestyle inspired clothing that transitions beautifully through the many stages of mamahood. The double function and versatility of each design allows a busy mom to go about her day, seamlessly and discreetly incorporating breastfeeding easily at anytime.
Their mission is being true to keeping Bun Maternity locally made in USA with mostly USA knitted fabric with your style and comfort thoughtfully in mind. This is a really big deal as a value-driven, committed to people and their community company....and they are so proud to say that they can bring you quality & passion-driven goods that haven't traveled very far to get from their doorsteps to yours. This impacts giving back to our community and in how they deliver honest, responsible, and super adorable products that benefits joyful bonding between mommies and babies everywhere.
They want to empower us moms! But how? Bun is more than awesome nursing apparel. Bun Maternity is about supporting breastfeeding and a woman's right to feed her baby anytime and anywhere. Even though normalizing breastfeeding in our society may be challenging, the more that women can feel comfortable nursing in the open helps to spread an awareness of the natural benefits of mind, body, and soul that breastfeeding offers. So feed when you need and wear Bun proud!
My thoughts? I got to try out two different tops! I am completely in love and they make my life so much easier! I got to try one of their tank tops they retail for $45. How does this help moms? There is a button on each shoulder that you can pull down and then there is a cloth that comes up and you can easily breastfeed baby without showing to much skin. This top has helped me a lot. I am more on the shy side.
The next top was the Cozy Up Poncho. This is by far my favorite maternity/breastfeeding item I own! You can buy this for $55. It is worth every cent!
I wore this during my pregnancy and right after my sons birth, for feeding times. I love that I can include it with any of my outfits and daily style! Very comfortable and grabs a lot of attention on its own. I have had several ladies ask me where to get one! If you do not own one head over to Bun Maternity and get you one! They have them in a few different colors.
Bun Maternity also has hoodies and dresses. Oh the dresses are so beautiful! I must get me one of those. Maybe another review in the feature... who knows?
Are you a breastfeeding mother? Would you use Bun? Any pointers for a new breastfeeding mom like myself?

I'm almost 10 months into my breastfeeding journey and am quite conservative, too. I love my Covered Goods nursing cover and I wrote a whole post about building a nursing-friendly wardrobe as a guest blogger on The Vintage Honeyshop's blog. It takes time, but you'll acquire practical pieces that you love and can re-wear with a lot. And you'll get more comfortable nursing as you and baby become experts at it together!
ReplyDeleteI did breastfeed and didn't have anything like this so I pumped into bottles for when I was in public. My friend is expecting. If she nurses I may buy her the poncho.
ReplyDeleteI nursed my youngest for 14 months. The first 2 1/2 months, I used a cover then it got to be too much of a hassle, so I stopped using it and just wore nursing tank top and tshirt over it (2 shirt method) in public as needed when he got hungry. It made life easier when walking and nursing in like Walmart. I wanna get a Bun Maternity shirt this time tho! I would love ONE shirt to make life easier for nursing. I am due April 3 and will breastfeed again.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice that they make shirts and bras easier to work with specifically for this now.
ReplyDeleteGreat post for those who breast feed! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI've always struggled with breastfeeding in public, purely because I have never found easy attire! Thanks for sharing this, I will have to give these tops a go. Chloe
ReplyDeleteI breastfed all 4 of my kids. The products, clothes and support that is available now is by far so much nicer.
ReplyDeleteLove that they have stylish option for breast feeding tops. I support those who breast feed in public without covering up but for me I like to cover up and be stylish in the process.
ReplyDeleteI believe breastfeeding is best, too. Thanks for introducing me to this company. I will definitely check it out when I have a child :)

This looks like a great top for breastfeeding moms
ReplyDeleteWow this is so cool! Now why didn't they have this when I was breastfeeding my kids? Oh well LOL.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome, I'm sure all moms would love this!
ReplyDeleteThose are great items to have. I am currently about to hit a year of breastfeeding my son. At first I was so akward about it. Then I got stuck in an a airport for 8 hours well after getting tired of going to the bathroom every hour and then to put him down for naps. I just covered up which with a wiggly kicking baby is hard to stay that way and nursed
ReplyDeletelove it the ease of breast feeding is always welcomed

Congrats on your baby! I'm glad to hear you chose to breastfeed. I'm also a breastfeeding mother. I'm also on the shy side, but I've gotten more comfortable breastfeeding in public over the years. Hopefully people will get more used to it and the stigma will fade away. I also like nursing in a baby carrier (soft structured carrier, ring sling, or wrap). That way I can still walk around or have my hands free.
ReplyDeleteI regret for not continuing breastfeedng my kid. I love the Idea of how other moms concerned and how they think of a solution on every moms issues! I will use this if I get pregnant again! :))) And i wont miss any chance of giving my kid a healthy milk of mine
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this, am sure breastfeeding mums will find them very useful. They look quite comfortable too.
ReplyDeleteIf that makes you feel more comfortable good on you. The main thing is that your baby is growing and you are happy and healthy together.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had these when my kids were nursing. This would have made it so much easier to nurse in public!
ReplyDeleteLove that they make things geared toward nursing mamas! Hopefully I'll be able to find something this great when I'm a mama in the very distant future!
ReplyDeleteI really love this because I nurse without a cover whenever I want but I am obsessed with Bun Maternity nursing tanks because it is so cute and convenient. They have the nicest stuff for moms and there's usually a coupon on their site. It's been worth it for me. Though I nurse without a cover all the time too because when baby needs to eat he needs to eat. You look great and thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAh I hope you do review the dress in the future. I'm always happy to hear bout products that feel good, look good and are functional too!
ReplyDeleteI should introduce this to my friend! Thanks for this
ReplyDeleteThis will make breastfeeding so much easier for moms! I really like the concept of the clothes.
ReplyDeleteBun Maternity is a place I never heard of but will be telling friends along with family about. I did breastfeed my youngest son and would have loved to have clothing like this from Bun Maternity. Thanks for sharing this awesome store as well as their nursing apparel.
